Bubble Gum Pink Wizard Hat

Your baby will stand out among all the Halloween costumes in this Bubble Gum Pink Wizard Hat!  Perfect for a wizard or witch costume, this easy crochet hat works up quickly and is great for a last minute Halloween accessory.  You could also use black yarn throughout the entire project to make an authentic crocheted hat pattern for a witch or wizard.

Materials:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn
  • 5 mm Crochet Hook
  • Crochet needle (just for weaving in ends)

 

 

Instructions:

  1. Round 1: Magic Circle, CH 2, 3 HDC, Join to top CH of CH 2.

Working in a continuous rounds

  1. Round 2: HDC in next 4 stitches
     
  2. Round 3: 2 HDC , HDC , 2 HDC , HDC
     
  3. Round 4: HDC in next 6 stitches
     
  4. Round 5: **2 HDC, HDC in next 2 stitches,  repeat  from **one more time
     
  5. Round 6: HDC in next 8 stitches
     
  6. Round 7: **2 HDC, HDC in next 3 stitches repeat  from **one more time
     
  7. Round 8: HDC in next 10 stitches
     
  8. Round 9: **2 HDC, HDC in next 4 stitches repeat  from **one more time
     
  9. Round 10: **2 HDC, HDC in next 5 stitches repeat  from **one more time
     
  10. Round 11: HDC in next 14 stitches
     
  11. Round 12: **2 HDC, HDC in next 6 stitches repeat  from **one more time
     
  12. Round 13: **2 HDC, HDC in next 7 stitches repeat  from **one more time
     
  13. Round 14: HDC in next 18 stitches
     
  14. Round 15: **2 HDC, HDC in next 5 stitches repeat  from **TWO more times
     
  15. Round 16: HDC in next 21 stitches
     
  16. Round 17: **2 HDC, HDC in next 6 stitches repeat  from **two more times
     
  17. Round 18: **2 HDC, HDC in next 7 stitches repeat  from **two more times
     
  18. Round 19: HDC in next 27 stitches
     
  19. Round 20: **2 HDC, HDC in next 8 stitches repeat  from **two more times
     
  20. Round 21: **2 HDC, HDC in next 9 stitches repeat  from **two more times

  29. Round 30: HDC in next  54 stitches
     
  30. Round 31: **2 HDC, HDC in next 17 stitches repeat  from **two more times
     
  31. Round 32: HDC in next  57 stitches
     
  32. Round 33: **2 HDC, HDC in next 18 stitches repeat  from **ONE more time, 2HDC, HDC in next  16 stitches, SC in next stitch, Slip stitch in next stitch.
     
  33. Change colors:  Round 34-37: CH 1, HDC in same stitch and in next 59,  Join to first HDC
     
  34. Change colors and start working in single rounds
     
  35. Round 38:  CH 1, HDC in same stitch and in next 59,  Join to first HDC
     
  36. (After remaking this pattern, I would suggest using a slightly smaller hook for the brim)
     
  37. Round 39:  CH 1, and working in front loop only, 2 HDC in same stitch, HDC in next 4 stitches, **2 HDC in next stitch, HDC in next 4 stitches repeat  from **around, Join to top of first HDC
     
  38. Round 40:  CH 1, and start working in BOTH loops again, 2 HDC in same stitch, HDC in next 5 stitches, **2 HDC in next stitch, HDC in next 5 stitches repeat  from **around, Join to top of first HDC
     
  39. Round 41:  CH 1,2 HDC in same stitch, HDC in next 6 stitches, **2 HDC in next stitch, HDC in next 6 stitches repeat  from ** around, Join to top of first HDC
     
  40. Change colors:  Round 42: CH 1, SC in same stitch, SC around, Join to first SC, Finish off
