Purple Beginner Shawl

Looking for an easy crochet shawl pattern? This purple beginner shawl will keep you nice and warm on those cool nights. The fringe is a nice addition. You'll finish this shawl in such a short amount of time.

FINISHED SIZE:
approximately 20" x 60" not including fringe

Please keep in mind that you should always begin with a gauge swatch and be sure to convert yardage for any substitute yarn.

 

MATERIALS

  • Caron Cozi: 15 oz. / 360 yds. Lavender Twist.
  • Size J crochet hook or size to reach gauge below.

PLEASE NOTE
Yarn usage may vary depending on your particular yarn techniques.

GAUGE:
dc, ch 1, dc = 1", 3 rows = 21/2". TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

SHAWL
Ch 59
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in ea ch across. (57 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc throughout) dc in next dc, * ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc, * rep from * across until last 3 stitches, ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc, dc in top of ch 3 stitch.
Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, * ch 1, sk ch 1 sp, dc in next dc, * rep between * across until last 3 stitches, ch 1, sk ch 1 sp, dc in last 2 dc. Rep Row 3 until wrap measures approximately 60” or wrap measures from wrist to wrist.
Fringe: Cut yarn into 16” lengths, knot 2 strands every other space across short ends of wrap. Trim.

Care Instructions: Hand wash in cool water. Lay flat to dry.
