Fortune Cookie Scarf

Bring yourself good luck with this super cute Fortune Cookie Scarf.  Great for beginners, this crocheted scarf pattern tucks back into the cookie when you're not wearing it!  This crocheted scarf is great for boys and girls of all ages, and it makes a fun stocking stuffer for teens.  Simple enough for crochet fans of all skill levels, this fun and whimsical crocheted scarf pattern is a quick and easy project that anyone is sure to enjoy!

Fortune Cookie ScarfFortune cookie Scarf

Materials:

  • 100 yards golden or light brown yarn in a 4 weight
  • 150 yards white yarn in a 5 weight
  • Size H crochet hook

 

Instructions:

Cookie

  1. Start with sliding/magic ring...Ch 2(counts as first hdc here and throughout) 9 hdc in ring
     
  2. Ch2, hdc same stitch, hdc next stitch, *2hdc next stitch, hdc following stitch, repeat from * around.  Join with ss to beginning chain 2.
     
  3. Ch2, hdc same stitch hdc next stitch *2hdc next stitch, hdc next 2 stitches repeat from * around Join with ss to beginning chain 2.
     
  4. Ch2, hdc same stitch hdc next stitch *2hdc next stitch, hdc next 3 stitches repeat from * around Join with ss to beginning chain 2.
     
  5. Ch2, hdc same stitch hdc next stitch *2hdc next stitch, hdc next 4 stitches repeat from * around Join with ss to beginning chain 2.
     
  6. Ch2, hdc same stitch hdc next stitch *2hdc next stitch, hdc next 5 stitches repeat from * around Join with ss to beginning chain 2.
     
  7. Ch2, hdc same stitch hdc next stitch *2hdc next stitch, hdc next 6 stitches repeat from * around Join with ss to beginning chain 2.
     
  8. Ch2, hdc same stitch hdc next stitch *2hdc next stitch, hdc next 7 stitches repeat from * around Join with ss to beginning chain 2.
     
  9. Ch2, hdc same stitch hdc next stitch *2hdc next stitch, hdc next 8 stitches repeat from * around Join with ss to beginning chain 2.  Fasten off.
     
  10. Fold circle in half and sew up one side for 13 stitches and then down two rows.  Repeat other side, leaving a gap for the scarf in the middle.  

Scarf

  1. With white yarn, - chain 16.
     
  2. Hdc in 3rd chain from hook, hdc across to end of row.
     
  3. ch 2 (counts as first hdc) hdc across to end of row.  Work until scarf is the length you want.  Example is 50 inches.  Fasten off.

Assembly

  1. Flip cookie inside out.
     
  2. Find center of bottom row on scarf and match that up with the center of the cookie.  Sew scarf to the inside of cookie.
     
  3. Flip cookie back to right side out.
     
  4. Tack edges of scarf to one side of the cookie where it exits.  This keeps it from flopping around so much while you’re wearing it.
