Beginner Striped Scarf

Crochet Beginner Striped Scarf


 

MATERIALS

  • Yarn: Patons® Melody (100 g/3.5 oz)

Main Color (MC): (Magenta) 1 ball
Contrast A: (Orange) 1 ball
Contrast B: (Pink) 1 ball
Contrast C: (Purple) 1 ball
Contrast D: (Blue) 1 ball

  • Crochet Hook: Size 10 mm (U.S. N or 15) crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension.

MEASUREMENT
Approx 6 ins [15 cm] wide x 100 ins [254 cm] long.

TENSION
8 sts and 8 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pattern.

INSTRUCTIONS
Stripe Pat
With MC, work 4 rows.
With A, work 4 rows.
With B, work 4 rows.
With C, work 4 rows.
With D, work 4 rows.
These 20 rows form Stripe Pat.

With MC, ch 13.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. *Ch 1. Miss next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to last ch. 1 sc in last ch. Turn. 12 sts.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc.
Rep last row twice more, joining A at end of last row. First 4 rows of Stripe Pat are now complete.
Rep 2nd row and cont until 20 rows of Stripe Pat have been repeated 10 times. Fasten off.
