Materials:

  • Bernat Satin – 1 skein (2 if you want an alternative color for your bow).
  • Crochet Hook Size – I/ 5.50
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in the ends.

Gauge:

  • 7 stitches and 3 Rows = approximately 2 inches.

Abbreviations:

  • ch – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • dc2tog – double crochet 2 together
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • sl st – slip stitch

Special Stitch:

  • dc2tog – YO, insert hook into the next stitch in the row, YO, pull through first 2 stitches, YO, insert hook into next st, YO, pull through two st, pull through remaining 3 stitches.
  • reverse sc – Also known as the crab stitch, is made by doing a single crochet stitch but in the opposite direction.  Right-handed people work from left to right and left-handed people from right to left.

Instructions:

Small (Fits 18” to 20”)

  1. ch 4, sl st into first ch to make a ring.

Bow

  1. Ch 10
     
  2. Row 1:  sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch, ch 1, turn (9 st)
     
  3. Row 2: sc in first sc and each sc across (9 st)
     
  4. Row 3-48:  Repeat Row 2 until you have reached your desired bow size.
     
  5. Whip stitch the ends together.
     
  6. Optional:  You can sc around the outer edge evenly for a smoother edge on your bow if desired.
     
  7. Wrap the yarn around the middle of the bow until it is secure and “fluffy”.  Cut the yarn and weave in all the loose ends.
