Love Bunnies Crochet Amigurumi

These love bunnies are fun decorations for the Easter holidays or to have around the house year round. Make them multi-colored or in a solid color, either way these amigurumi are super cute!

Floppy Bunny Crochet Pattern

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn -small amount desired color
  • US crochet hook size F
  • 9 mm safety eyes (Optional)
  • Polyfill
  • Yarn needle.

Gauge
4 sc and 4 sc rows = 1 inch.

Notes: Do not join rounds unless indicated.

Finished size = 6 inches in length.

Steps:

Head

Rnd 1: Starting at nose, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)

Row 2: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (9 sc)

Row 3: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (12 sc)

Row 4: Sc in each sc around.

Row 5: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)

Row 6: Sc in each sc around.

Row 7: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (27 sc)

Rows 8 - 10: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 11: (Sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (18 sc)

Rnd 12: Sc in each sc around.

***If using 9mm eyes, attach them over rnds 8 -9******

Rnd 13: (Sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (12 sc)

***Stuff head firmly***

Rnd 14: (Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. Leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off. (6 sc)

Add more stuffing if necessary. Whip stitch opening closed.

Body

Rnd 1: Starting at back of body, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)

Row 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)

Row 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)

Row 4: Sc in each sc around.

Row 5: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (24 sc)

Row 6: Sc in each sc around.

Row 7: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (30 sc)

Rnds 8 - 13: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 14: (Sc in next 3 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (24 sc)

Rnd 15: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 16: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (18sc)

Rnd 17: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 18: (Sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (12 sc)

***Stuff body firmly.***

Rnd 19: (Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. Leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off. (6 sc)

Add more stuffing if necessary. Whip stitch opening closed.

Legs (Make 4)

Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)

Rnds 3 - 4: Sc in each sc around.

Rnd 5: (Sc in next 4 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (10 sc)

Rnds 6 - 10: Sc in each sc around, at the end of rnd 10 join with a sl st in next sc, leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off.

Stuff legs firmly and sew opening closed.

Sew 2 legs to sides of back of back of body.

Sew 2 legs under body front.

Sew head to top of body over rnds 14 - 18 in desired position.

Ears (Make 2)

Row 1: Starting at bottom point of ear, ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. (3 sc)

Row 2: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (5 sc)

Rows 4 - 5: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 6: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (7 sc)

Rows 7 - 18: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 19: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (5 sc)

Row 20: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 21: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, DO NOT TURN. (3 sc)

Edging: Work 20 sc down side of ear, work 3 sc in opposite side of starting ch, work 20 sc up side of ear, ch 1, join with a sl st in first sc of row 21. Leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off.

Fold ear in half lengthwise and sew the top of row 21 together. Sew ears to top of head.

With desired color, embroider nose and mouth onto face, If embroidering eyes, embroider them over rnds 8 -9.

Tail
Attach a 2 inch in diameter (or size desired) pom pom to back of body.

Weave in any remaining loose ends.
