Crocheted Multicolored Throw

Combine one bright multi colored yarn with three solid colors for an easy-to-crochet afghan. The vivid striped pattern of the crocheted multicolored throw from Red Heart Yarn cheers up any room. Throw measures 48” x 60”.
MATERIALS:

  • Red Heart® “Super Saver®”, (Art. E300) solid 7 oz (198 g), 364 yd (333 m); multicolor and print 5 oz (141 g), 244 yd (223 m), flecks 5 oz (141 g) 260 yds (238 m) skeins:
    • 1 skein each 256 Carrot A and 624 Tea Leaf C; 2 skeins 320 Cornmeal B; and 6 skeins 964 Primary D
  • Crochet Hook: 5mm [US H-8]
  • Yarn Needle

GAUGE: 13 sts = 4”; 16 rows = 4” in pattern.

CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
INSTRUCTIONS:
With B, ch 173.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn – 172 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first 4 sc, * ch 2, skip next 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc; repeat from * across; turn.
Fasten off.
Row 3: Join D in first sc; ch 1, sc in first 4 sc, * dc in next 2 skipped sc 2 rows below (Row 1) pulling dc up to current level of work, sc in next 4 sc; repeat from * across; turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first 4 sc, * ch 2, skip next 2 dc, sc in next 4 sc; repeat from * across; turn.
Fasten off.
Row 5: Join C in first sc; ch 1, sc in first 4 sc, * 2 sc in next ch-2 space, sc in next 4 sc; repeat from * across; turn.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn. Fasten off.
Row 7: Join D in first sc; ch 1, sc in first 4 sc, * dc in next 2 skipped dc 4 rows below (Row 3) pulling dc up to current level of work, sc in next 4 sc; repeat from * across; turn.
Row 8: With D, repeat Row 4.
Row 9: With A, repeat Row 5.
Row 10: With A, repeat Row 6.
Row 11: With D, repeat Row 7.
Row 12: With D, repeat Row 4.
Row 13: With B, repeat Row 5.
Row 14: With B, repeat Row 6.
Row 15: With B, repeat Row 2.
Rows 16-223: Repeat Rows 3-15, 16 times.
Rows 224-235: Repeat Rows 3-14.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
