Blue Skies Basketweave Throw

Curl up with a nice warm bowl of soup and this Blue Skies Basketweave Throw.  When stormy weather has you down, this pattern is sure to bring a smile to your face.  Made in a simple basketweave stitch, this crochet afghan pattern can also be made in any yarn color you'd like.

Blue Skies Throw

Materials:

  • 6 skeins homespun yarn
  • K crochet hook

 

Special Stitches: 

  • FPDC:  front post double crochet
  • BPDC:  back post double crochet

 

Gauge:  4 DC = 1 inch and 1 row = 1 inch

 

Instructions:

  1. ch 138
     
  2. R1: DC into 3rd ch from hook and DC in each ch across.
     
  3. R2: Turn. Ch 2. Do 1 FPDC *4 BPDC, 4 FBDC* Repeat from * across to the last 2 stitches, then do 1 FPDC and 1 DC.
     
  4. R3: Turn. Ch 2. Do 1 BPDC * 4 FPDC, 4 BPDC* Repeat from * across to the last 2 stitches, then do 1 BPDC and 1 DC.
     
  5. Repeat row 3, then repeat row 2. (respectively)
     
  6. Continue until desired length.
