Show the love with a heart shaped clay frame and refrigerator magnet.

By Lisa Peterson for AMACO

Materials:

  • FIMO® Soft Polymer Clay — White, Raspberry, Cherry Red
  • AMACO® PolyRoller
  • AMACO® Pasta Machine
  • Heart Shaped Paper Punch (Fiskars®)
  • Heart Shaped Cookie Cutters
  • Flat Magnets

Note: Please supervise children when working with sharp objects to prevent injury. Cookie Cutters used for polymer clay should not be re-used for food.

Steps:

  1. Mix a 1/4" ball of Raspberry FIMO® Soft with a 1" White ball until light pink.

  2. Flatten pink to the thinnest setting of pasta machine. Bake flat for 15 minutes. Allow to cool, then punch out heart shapes.

  3. Flatten White FIMO® Soft on the thickest setting of pasta machine.

  4. Stack white to a double thickness then cut out desired heart shape. Cut out center with smaller heart. Press in pre-baked pink heart shapes as desired.

  5. Roll a 1/4" diameter log of each color: White, Raspberry, and Cherry Red. Twist together. Continue rolling into a log, twisting pattern to make a swirl. Wrap logs around outside and inside of frame.

  6. With cut out heart, apply the word ‘love’ by shaping the swirled log into letters. Trim with swirled log.

  7. Bake for one hour at 265ºF (130ºC).
