Easy peezy lemon squeezy--these bright and colorful drink coasters are fun to paint and quick to make. A terra cotta saucer, some Patio Paint, and five quick steps, and you've got some fun summer decor items.

Materials:

  • DecoArt Patio Paint
    • DCP14 - Cloud White
    • DCP28 - Fiesta Yellow
    • DCP29 - Petunia Purple
  • 1/2" flat brush
  • #4 round brush
  • Liner brush
  • Palette or foam plate
  • Scissors
  • Masking tape
  • Terra cotta saucer, Ceramo, Inc., S045

Steps:
Hair dryer on low heat setting can speed drying process of paint.

  1. Use flat brush and Fiesta Yellow to paint inside bottom of saucer; let dry between coats.

  2. Use flat brush and Petunia Purple to paint remainder of saucer; let dry.

  3. Cut masking tape pieces 1" in length and cut each into wedge shape. Referring to photo, place pieces in bottom of saucer and secure edges of tape to avoid paint seepage.

  4. Use round brush and Cloud White to paint over exposed Fiesta Yellow in bottom of saucer; let dry and remove tape wedges.

  5. Use liner brush and Cloud White to paint seeds of lemon; let dry.
