This book is so fun, it should be illegal.
Criminal Crafts: Outlaw Projects for Scoundrels, Cheats, and Armchair Detectives is a clever and witty DIY project book. Filled with 30 crafts and recipes themed in film noir, espionage, pulp fiction, murder, mafia mayhem, and voodoo magic, Criminal Crafts is a great book for those who love a little mystery and intrigue.
Broken down into clever chapters, like “Accessories to the Fact” and “Recipes for Disaster”, these fun thrifty projects pay homage to such notorious masterminds as John Dillinger, Bonnie Parker, Alfred Hitchcock and more. The clever “Grace Kelly’s See-Behind Rear Window Shades”, for example, allow you to see behind you by gluing a small mirror to the inside of your sunglasses. Pretty brilliant if you ask me!
Thankfully you won’t need to rob any banks to make the crafts in Criminal Crafts. These projects can easily be made with materials found around the house and in thrift stores. Even the recipes are easy to make and often contain less than 10 ingredients.
With how-to’s on creating invisible ink, ransom notes, and secret pockets, as well as recipes for spiked drinks, cookies, and cakes to die for, Criminal Crafts is just the book to have on hand as an inspiration or an alibi!
