Pumpkin Harvest Basket

Add the freshness of the harvest to your fall home decor with a basket decorated with a painted wood pumpkin. This basket is perfect for fall picnics or tail-gating.

Wood Pumpkin Picnic Basket

Materials:

DecoArt Products Required
Dazzling Metallics

  • DA148 - Emperor's Gold
  • DA205 - Copper
  • DA245 - Rich Espresso --- NEW!!
  • DA261 - Festive Green --- NEW!!

Supplies

  • Foam brush
  • 1/2" flat brush
  • Foam plate
  • Lo-temp glue gun
  • 10" length of gold craft wire
  • Wire cutting/curling tool
  • One 1-1/4" unfinished wood axle peg
  • Two 3/4" unfinished wood hearts, Forster Woodsies SML Hearts
  • Three extra large unfinished wood ovals, Forster Jumbo Woodsies
  • 5" x 6-1/2" woven basket

Instructions:

  1. Use foam brush to dry brush Emperor's Gold over basket.
     
  2. Paint axle peg Rich Espresso; allow to dry.
     
  3. Paint hearts Festive Green; allow to dry.
     
  4. Referring to photo for placement, glue three ovals together for pumpkin shape. Paint pumpkin Copper; allow to dry.
     
  5. Glue axle peg to back of pumpkin for stem. (Refer to photo for placement.) Glue hearts to pumpkin for leaves.
     
  6. Refer to photo for placement and wrap center of wire around stem; curl ends of wire.
     
  7. Glue pumpkin to basket front.

NOTE: Allow paint to dry after each application.
