This Basket of Daisies Crochet Pattern is perfect for a kitchen magnet or could be turned into a great spring or summer pin.  Little crochet patterns like this make wonderful gifts for moms, grandmas, sisters, and friends.

Materials:

  • Yarn color of choice, for basket
  • White yarn, for flowers
  • C Crochet hook, or smallest hook you have
  • Small beads
  • Magnet (optional)

 

Instructions:

  1. Row 1: ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. ch 1, turn.
     
  2. Row 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across till last sc, 2 sc in last sc. ch 1, turn.
     
  3. Row 3: sc in each sc. ch 1, turn.
     
  4. Row 4: Repeat row 2. ch 1, turn.
     
  5. Row 5: Repeat row 3. ch 1, turn.
     
  6. Row 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18: Repeat row 2. ch 1, turn.
     
  7. Row 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19: Repeat row 3.
     
  8. Do not ch 1 and turn but continue sc evenly around all 3 sides of the basket with 2 sc in each bottom corner sc.
     
  9. When you reach the top right part, sc in 1st sc, ch 2, 3 dc in sc just made, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc. (ch 2, 3 dc in sc just made, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc) across. Fasten off and weave in ends.
     
  10. For the handle, chain of desired length (will be folded in half), dc in 5th ch from hook, (ch1, skip next ch, dc in next ch) across. Your work should end with a dc.
     
  11. ch 1, sc evenly across all dcs and ch 1 spaces all around. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
     
  12. Fold the handle in half and sew neatly to the back of the basket. Alternatively you can glue it in place.
     

Flowers:

  1. Beginning with a Magic Loop, 10 sc in the loop, join with a slip stitch to first sc, close the loop.
     
  2. ch 2, 1 dc, 1 tr in joining, 1 tr, 1 dc in next sc, ch 2, slip stitch in same sc, (ch 2, 1 dc, 1 tr in next sc, 1 tr, 1 dc in next sc, ch 2, slip stitch in same sc) around. 5 petals made. Glue a bead to the centre of the flower.
     
  3. Referring to the picture, sew or glue the flowers to the basket. Glue on a magnet to the back of the basket. Glue a small bow to the handle if desired.

To answer a post, yes some daisies do have long pointed petals they are Shasta daisies. Some wild ones look like these. I can see these in different colors too. I will use they as embellishments on my purses that I make. I won't say how easy they were to make, as the old sayings goes, Dausies never tell!

This is cute but don't daisies have longer, thinner petals?

This is absolutely adorable!!! Daisies have always been my favorite flower's, So believe me when I tell you my husband saves a ton of money when it comes to buying me flowers. Daisies growing wild. I wish youcould come up with more patterns like this!
